Painting Owls

This post is a bit premature as the awesome painting class that I am taking is not finished until next week, but my owls are just so darn cute that I had to share them! I really poured my heart into them. The class has just been so great, learning how another artist pours her heart and energy, and giving me hints as to what my heart wants to do as well. I realized today that the artists that I am most drawn to are artists who for one reason or another early on in their adult lives concluded that art was not the path that they were meant for...but then later it called them back. It is so reassurring to me to hear these stories and see artists who are regular, sensitive, passionate artistic people creating what is in their hearts to create. And then to see the awesome things that come as a result! So I am on my path today. Taking some time to take a break from blogging and taking this class have really helped to clarify my thoughts and my heart. I think that painting is the path that I need to be on for now, while still allowing time for other arts and crafts to inspire me. So, here are my paintings, almost done. I am not sure how much they will change with the final classes, but the theme and the characters are present, so I want to introduce them....(now, the owl template is Juliette Crane's work)...without any further ado:

"let go"

"slow down"

"bring your heart"

"fierce beauty"
